Prohibited Items, Restricted Destinations & Regulatory Compliance Policy

Prohibited Items

 

Customers may not ship, store, transport, import, export, or otherwise tender any item that is prohibited by applicable law, carrier regulations, safety requirements, customs regulations, or Company policy.

 

Prohibited items include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Illegal drugs, narcotics, and controlled substances

  • Counterfeit goods and intellectual property infringing products

  • Stolen property

  • Hazardous waste and toxic materials

  • Explosives, fireworks, detonators, and explosive devices

  • Radioactive materials

  • Biological hazards and infectious substances

  • Undeclared dangerous goods

  • Illegal weapons and prohibited weapon components

  • Items intended for unlawful purposes

  • Goods prohibited under import, export, sanctions, or trade control regulations

Restricted Items

 

Certain items may only be accepted with prior written approval and compliance with applicable regulations, including:

 

  • Lithium batteries and battery-powered devices

  • Hazardous materials (HAZMAT)

  • Pharmaceuticals and medical products

  • Alcoholic beverages

  • Tobacco and nicotine products

  • Precious metals, jewelry, and high-value cargo

  • Temperature-sensitive products

  • Perishable goods

  • Live animals

  • Controlled technology and dual-use goods

  • Firearms and related equipment where legally permitted

 

Acceptance of restricted items does not guarantee transportation and remains subject to carrier, regulatory, and destination-country requirements.

Updates to the Prohibited and Restricted Items List

 

The Prohibited and Restricted Items List may be revised at any time to reflect:

 

  • Changes in local, national, or international laws

  • Carrier restrictions

  • Customs regulations

  • Safety and security requirements

  • Economic sanctions programs

  • Industry best practices

 

Customers are responsible for reviewing the most current version of the policy before submitting shipments.

Restricted Countries and Destinations

 

Service availability may be limited or unavailable in certain countries, territories, or regions due to:

 

  • Economic or trade sanctions;

  • Export control restrictions;

  • Armed conflict or political instability;

  • Carrier service limitations;

  • Government-imposed restrictions;

  • Security concerns;

  • Customs or regulatory requirements.

 

Vernon G. Edwards Ltd. reserves the right to refuse shipments to any destination where service cannot be provided safely, legally, or operationally.

 

Customers should contact Vernon G. Edwards Ltd. to verify destination eligibility prior to booking international shipments.

Regulatory Compliance

 

Customers are solely responsible for ensuring that all shipments comply with applicable:

 

  • Import and export laws

  • Customs regulations

  • Trade sanctions programs

  • Export control requirements

  • Product safety regulations

  • Dangerous goods regulations

  • Transportation security requirements

  • Environmental regulations

 

Customers must provide accurate shipment descriptions, classifications, permits, licenses, declarations, certificates, and supporting documentation as required by applicable laws and regulations.

Export Controls and Sanctions Compliance

 

Customers represent and warrant that:

 

  • They are not listed on any applicable government sanctions or restricted-party lists

  • The shipment is not destined for a prohibited end-user, end-use, or sanctioned jurisdiction

  • The shipment complies with all applicable export control and sanctions laws

 

Vernon G. Edwards Ltd. reserves the right to refuse, suspend, inspect, delay, or cancel any shipment suspected of violating applicable trade, sanctions, customs, or security regulations.

Customer Liability

 

Customers shall be responsible for any fines, penalties, duties, taxes, storage charges, legal fees, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:

 

  • Non-compliant shipments

  • Undeclared goods

  • Undeclared dangerous goods

  • Regulatory violations

  • Inaccurate shipment information

  • Failure to obtain required permits, licenses, or approvals

 

Right to Inspect

 

To comply with applicable laws, regulations, and security requirements, Vernon G. Edwards Ltd. reserves the right to inspect, screen, scan, open, verify, or review any shipment without prior notice where permitted by law.
